Mentor Group Model

Mentoring is fun! It can be challenging too.

But you don’t have to do it alone.

At the Mentor Project, every one-to-one mentor match is also part of a group (with 5-8 other mentors) who support each other through the ups and downs of building friendships with youth.

Mentor Groups Help Friendships Last

By volunteering with a group, mentors and youth have longer friendships and activities are more fun and meaningful.

Group members have great ideas and advice. Sharing challenges and accomplishments builds commitment.

Being part of a group connects youth to a community of support.

Start a Mentor Group

Ask yourself: do I know 5-8 people who would like to be positive role models?

Consider your social circles: church, charity groups, clubs, co-workers, family, friends, neighbors, tribe, or anybody you like to spend time with.

Mentors with common interests build strong groups that last.
